A former intern at the workshop, Philippe Gaudet, who regularly visits the workshop, is continuing his work and finalising his new creation entitled ‘La désillusion de l’Homme augmenté’ (The Disillusionment of Augmented Man). This sculpture is made from Bohemian olive wood and has a final height of 210 centimetres.
Here we see him busy with the finishing touches, sanding between all the gaps with 80, 120 and then 240 grit sandpaper to achieve a perfectly smooth surface and bring out the full structure of the wood. This is done before treating the work with linseed oil and wax.
